The Friends of Brooksvale Park’s Wreathmaking Workshop on Dec 2 was a success with over 70 wreath makers kicking off the holiday season at Brooksvale Park.

Thanks to FOB for purchasing the supplies, staffing the event, and providing wonderful goodies for all of us.  Thank you Kirsten, Gail, Kathy, Bob, Marianne, Judy and President Fred McCarthy!

In the yearly quest to find “greens”, thanks again to John Strampach and Andy Brand for allowing us to access their property.  They have been providing the bulk of the greens for almost 10 years now.  Also thanks to the Ct DEEP staff from Indian Wells State Park, who helped us out again this year.

Thanks to the Park staff and volunteers who spent a busy week cutting, collecting and processing the greens:

John Torgerson and Tom Brown secured the vehicles, chain saws and necessary hand tools.

Pete Laffin, Mike Gibson, Jesse Vergato, Dean Luedee, Harry Coyle and Ken Paecht Jr collected and transported the greens back to Brooksvale Park.

Clipping was accomplished by Amy Kulikowski, Steve Updegrove, volunteers Melissa Lockery & Dan Nadeau, and volunteers from QU Sig Ep fraternity.

The funds raised at this event will be used to further educational programs at the Park, and help with accomplishing park improvement projects.

This workshop is traditionally held the first Saturday in Dec.   Hope to see you next year!
